Howie Roseman: Nate Sudfeld has “upside to develop into a starter”

Howie Roseman has some positive words to say about Nate Sudfeld whom started out as a third sting quarterback in the beginning of the year.

“We were confident in Nick, and confident in Nate as well,” said former quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo during the week of the Super Bowl. “Nate’s done a great job of maturing both physically and mentally as the year went on, so we were great with those two guys going the rest of the way.”

General Manager Howie Roseman stated, “Nate Sudfeld has a tremendous skill-set, not only to potentially be a No. 2 in this league, but we also think he has upside to develop into a starter. I mean, (he’s) incredibly smart, athletic, good frame, can make all the throws. All you have to do is ask some of our defensive players on the scout team about him. We’re excited about him. We’re even more excited with (him) having a full offseason with our coaching staff in our offseason program and then a full training camp.”

Nate Sudfeld has even proved his skills during NFL Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys whom was relieving QB Nick Foles to prevent injury. He completed a whopping 82.6% of his passes, including a speedy, nice 23 yard scramble, putting up a 90.9 passer rating.

Anyways, it is reasonable to think or say Nate Sudfeld has potential to develop into a starting quarterback, even for a different team (if Carson Wentz plays well enough).
