You may be nervous for next week’s Eagles game against the Cowboys judging by how they performed against the Raiders on Christmas night. But the good news is, is if we lose, we won’t have anything to lose. Technically, Eagles have nothing to play for on Sunday since they already clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. But I’m sure backups will do their best and maybe the starters in the first quarter or two. Nick Foles definitely needs some practice though. Hopefully they will keep him in for at least the first half next week. Anyways, which Eagles players should you start? Note: Eagles won’t be playing starters whole game to prevent injuries.
START
Corey Clement – Pederson will most likely rest RB Jay Ajayi and RB LeGarrette Blount. So time to put the backup RB’s in. Clement will definitely get tested on Sunday to see how well he can perform as a starter. Prediction – 8.96 points (NFL Fantasy).
Wendell Smallwood – Same thing. Eagles will rest Ajayi and Blount. Put another backup RB in, Wendell Smallwood. He will also be tested to see what he can do after being a healthy scratch majority of this season. Prediction – 6.90 points (NFL Fantasy).
Mack Hollins – This is probably one of the best backup WR’s in the league; judging from his very little playing time. He will definitely be a big target for backup QB Nate Sudfeld. Prediction – 8.76 points (NFL Fantasy).
Trey Burton – He will definitely play most of the game on Sunday. Eagles will mostly use Ertz and Burton in the first half. Then in the second half they will probably use Burton and Celek.
SIT
Eagles Defense – Despite the fact that our defense had two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and a sack on Christmas night. Eagles will play their backups on defense as well. Our defense can’t even do average with our starters, why should we think their backups will be able to do anything against Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys? Maybe Rasul Douglas can get another interception though. Prediction – 5.56 points (NFL Fantasy).
Eagles Starters – Unless a starter has an extremely well start in the first half, they won’t be playing the whole game. It would be pretty stupid to start starters.
Nick Foles If He Starts Whole Game – The dude did nothing against the 6-9 Raiders. What makes you thing he’ll do something against the 8-7 Cowboys.
