Well here you have it, Eagles agree to the first transaction of the offseason. This is actually a pretty surprising trade. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seattle Seahawks are trading 32-year-old defensive end Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick for Eagles’ wide receiver Marcus Johnson and a fifth-round pick.
This somewhat doesn’t make much sense, I understand that the Eagles need to work in some room to provide some more money to themselves, though why would they trade for Michael Bennett whom is 32-years-old and put him over 21-year-old Derek Barnett. Maybe this is one of many trades to get somebody during free-agency.
The upside about this is that he doesn’t nearly cost as much as Vinny Curry, and he is also a three-times Pro Bowler. I’m guessing the Eagles will soon release or maybe trade Vinny Curry?
Here it goes: Seahawks are trading DE Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to Eagles for a fifth-round pick and WR Marcus Johnson, sources tell ESPN.
