Although Gabe Kapler and the Philadelphia Phillies still need to learn to win on the road, they seem to be doing well at home, really well. Despite the Phillies terrible 1-4 record, they were still able to win against the Miami Marlins during their home opener on Thursday, 0 -5. They did it again on Saturday evening, but somehow did lots of damage, by putting up 20 points on the scoreboard. Including two grand slams, and more than three-run home runs, just by the fourth inning!
Something special is happening to Philly this year. The Philadelphia Eagles were on fire, and won their first Super Bowl. The 76ers are doing awesome, currently ranked 3rd best in their conference after beating Lebron James and the Caviliers without Joel Embiid. The Flyers are doing unexpectedly amazing, by holding a 42-26-14 record. Now, despite the losing record, the Phillies just blew out Miami, 1 – 20. We also can’t forget about Villanova winning the championships in NCAA for the second time in three years.
If the Phillies retain their talent they’ve been capable of the past two games, they are no doubt about it World Series bound. And maybe Philadelphia can repeat 2008, but even better.
