DeSean Jackson shines in Eagles victory over Washington

The Philadelphia Eagles have started their season by beating the Washington Redskins at home, with the help of newly acquired wide receiver DeSean Jackson who looked like his old-self.

Jackson connected with quarterback Carson Wentz eight times for 154 yards and two touchdowns, including two 50+ yard bombs. Wentz registered three passing touchdowns for 313 yards, with an attractive 71.8% completing.

Although Eagles started slowly in the first half with a two-touchdown deficit, they were able to win by a somewhat-comforting five points. Alshon Jeffery also found the endzone twice, with a receiving touchdowns and rushing touchdown.

Eagles’ Defense was a bit of a concern in the first half as well, lacking adequate wideout coverage. The Eagles look to continue their momentum next week against the Atlantic Falcons; a tougher matchup.
