This may be old news – but Eagles HC Doug Pederson is expecting to play his starters vs. Cowboys. Later this week Doug Pederson stated, “I don’t want to not play them and then it’s three weeks later that they’re playing again in the divisional round of the playoffs.” He also stated, “I think that’s foolish on my part. I want to make sure they stay into the moment, but at the same time, I’ll be smart on how much they play, how long they play, and go from there.”
This will probably mean we won’t see any or much of QB Nate Sudfeld or CB Sidney Jones; (the Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones duo). Oh well.
But anyways, the final injury report against the Cowboys was released on Friday. Apparently DE Brandon Graham who was a ProBowl snub, and LB Joe Walker who was a healthy scratch last week are both ruled out. Graham is out with an ankle injury, and Walker is out with a neck injury. Without Graham will be a big loss against 8-7 Dallas Cowboys, but not much to worry about considering DE Chris Long who happens to have 3 strip-sacks this season (with limited playing time) will be Grahams backup. Joe Walker wise, Dannell Ellerbe who made his first Eagles debut last week played just fine, and it looks like he’ll be playing again this week.
Also, CB Jalen Mills is questionable with an ankle injury, meaning we will possibly see a Rasul Douglas appearance. Hopefully all three players will be healthy for the playoffs in three weeks.
