This will be the Philadelphia Eagles third major news item today, and probably the biggest. After helping the Philadelphia Eagles succeed to be World Champions, LeGarrette Blount will sign with the Detroit Lions, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
The deal is worth $4.5 million for one year. It must be a pain for Blount to be moving around a lot; New England, to Philadelphia, now to Detroit for a year, (unless they retain him after the 2018 season).
Blount struggled throughout the regular season, though he was able to show off more of his skill-set during the 2017 season playoffs with a touchdown each game. It sucks to see Blount go in most cases, but it is more reasonable for the Philadelphia Eagles to stick with young, potential-filled, Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement.
The #Lions are signing FA RB LeGarrette Blount to a 1-year deal worth $4.5M, source said. He’s back with Matt Patricia, as the New England ties are strong.
