Reportedly, defending Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles, are releasing veteran linebacker Mychal Kendricks. The release will save the Eagles about $7 million in cap space.
Earlier on Tuesday, Eagles newly signed linebacker, Paul Worrilow, went down with a torn ACL at OTAs. Due to Kendricks’s absence at OTAs, Eagles newly signed linebacker Corey Nelson, formerly on the Broncos, played as a starter during the reps. It’s unclear and unlikely whether Nelson will start in the 2018 season though.
The Eagles certainly need to sign another decent linebacker after releasing Kendricks, and Worrilow with a knee injury.
Eagles releasing veteran LB Mychal Kendricks, per source. Kendricks spent six years with Eagles; he’s not expected to be unemployed long.
