According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, former Cardinals, Lions, Raiders, Panthers, Bears, Buccaneers, Browns, and Jets quarterback Josh McCown, age 40, is coming out of retirement to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The deal is for one year, up to $5.4M and $2M of said guaranteed.
McCown’s best season in the league was in 2017 with the New York Jets; he threw 18 touchdowns for 2,926 yards and nine interceptions, putting him at a total of 98 touchdowns for 17,707 yards and 82 interceptions throughout his 16-year career.
The addition of another quarterback was much-necessary for the Eagles as they’re already down to two quarterbacks—Nate Sudfeld (broken wrist) and Cody Kessler (concussion)—leaving them with only Carson Wentz and rookie Clayton Thorson at the moment.
Welcome to Philly, your ninth team, Josh.Follow @EaglesFeast
