Earlier today, the Eagles have just informed us that they’ve signed 28-year-old wide receiver Torrey Smith. Smith is now considered a former San Francisco 49ers player.
Smith agreed to a 3-year $15 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Eagles made this cap room by releasing defensive end Connor Barwin earlier today. The Eagles now have a chance to test this new Eagle wide receiver out.
Torrey Smith was selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. In the 2016 season, Smith had 20 receptions, for 267 yard , which is decent. He also had 3 touchdowns last season.
Now the Eagles are hoping to improve their offensive passing game with Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor, Torrey Smith, and Dorial Green-Beckham as well as other Eagle wide receivers. This will also give Carson Wentz a chance to show off his passing skills.
