“Golden Tate to the Giants on a four-year, $37.5 million deal that includes $23 million fully guaranteed,” Schefter also stated (via Twitter).
Tate was acquired by the Eagles via trade with the Detroit Lions, using a third-round pick. Before catching a game-winning touchdown against the Bears in the playoffs this year, Eagles offensive coordinates Mike Groh said he struggled integrating Tate into the system. Personally, I don’t blame Tate for leaving.
Because Tate walked, the Eagles will receive a third-round compensatory pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
