Eagles will not franchise tag QB Nick Foles, to become unrestricted free agent

According to the team, the Philadelphia Eagles will not franchise tag quarterback Nick Foles, and instead, let him become an unrestricted free agent.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman stated, “we’ve decided to allow Nick to become a free agent.” It will be the best for Foles as it is up to only him on which team to sign with.

The Eagles issued the following statement via Twitter:

Nonetheless, there is still a chance left that Foles could return to Philly if he doesn’t get a starting job. Though, it would cost the Eagles around $20 million which doesn’t favor their current cap situation.

Thank you for everything, Nick Foles.
