Eagles safety Rodney McLeod reportedly out for season after MCL surgery

A new report indicates that Philadelphia Eagles starting safety Rodney McLeod had surgery this morning for a torn MCL and will miss the remainder of the season.

It’s not yet clear why an injury of this sort would end McLeod’s season as the typical recovery time is 2-6 weeks. Perhaps there’s more to the story.

Regardless, the Eagles now urgently need some help at safety. Unfortunately, just hours ago the Carolina Panthers signed free agent safety Eric Reid. The Eagles might also look at bringing Tre Sullivan up from the practice squad to provide help for Corey Graham, who will presumably take McLeod’s starting spot.
