Eagles offensive coordinator Mike Groh isn’t fit for the job

David Maialetti /

What could possibly be so different about the Eagles this season than last season?

They have quarterback Carson Wentz back, they have a running back in Josh Adams, they have arguably the best receiving corp in the NFL, they have a top three tight end, they upgraded at the offensive line with Jason Peters back, they also have the best defensive line in the league, they have about the same linebackers as last season, they have a somewhat mediocre secondary (despite the loss of Ronald Darby and Patrick Robinson). Why are they so bad in comparison to last season?

Many Eagles fans and analyst think they know the problem: Mike Groh.

Mike Groh is the Eagles offensive coordinator who was promoted from the wide receivers coach after the Colts hired Frank Reich. They thought they had a coach in Groh, but according to this season…not really.

Groh was just a big mistake. In 2017, he coached what seemed to be one of the best receiving corp in NFL. It seems the Eagles must’ve been really impressed by that, and decided to give him a risky shot.

Anyways, as Rams passing coordinator in 2016, Groh ranked 31st in passing yards per game and 32nd in passing DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average).

Not even sure why this guy was brought to the Eagles coaching staff in the first place.

It’s only a manner of time before the front-office realizes this…eventually…ugh.
