Eagles running back Darren Sproles had been expected to play this weekend against the Cowboys after being sidelined since September with a hamstring injury. In fact, the Eagles were apparently so confident in his status that they went ahead and waived WR DeAndre Carter, who had been returning kicks and punts in Sproles’ absence.
Unfortunately, Sproles reportedly aggravated his hamstring injury during practice yesterday and is now expected to miss more time (see below). Adding insult to injury (pun intended), the aforementioned DeAndre Carter has already been scooped up by the Houston Texans. Whoops.
After Philadelphia HC Doug Pederson said he expected Darren Sproles to play Sunday vs the Cowboys, the Eagles’ veteran RB went to practice and aggravated his hamstring injury, and now is expected to be sidelined, per sources. Sproles was highly disappointed, as were the Eagles.
