Darren Sproles announces retirement after 2018 season

Nobody can play forever. Not even Darren Sproles. On Sunday afternoon. the Philadelphia Eagles’ 35-year-old running back announced he will be hanging up his cleats after the 2018 NFL Season.

The possible Hall of Famer played five season with the Chargers, and had six touchdowns with them. Sproles then signed with the Saints for three seasons, and managed to score five touchdowns with them. Then he played five seasons with the Eagles, and registered more than 11 touchdowns with them.

Sproles is also ranked in the top 10 in all-purpose yards, as well as players like Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, and Barry Sanders.

Thankfully, we will get to see a decent amount of snaps from Sproles in his last season, due to the Eagles’ current running back rotation scheme.
