Corey Nelson looks to assume Mychal Kendricks’ position

As Eagles run through this 2018 offseason’s OTAs, former Broncos’ linebacker Corey Nelson, 26, is playing first team/starter reps, following the departure of linebacker Mychal Kendricks.

Despite Corey Nelson’s unpopularity, he is sill a more than solid linebacker, who looks to resume where he left off before his season-ending injury prior to the 2017 season.

In 2016, Corey Nelson had 68 combined tackles, and was named one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL that year. A video of Corey Nelson in 2016 pretty much locking down Titans’ tight end Delanie Walker is as follows via Twitter (after advertisement):

Pretty good, right? Well, some folks seem to be forgetting about 23-year-old Nathan Gerry, who also is a solid linebacker. Eagles’ defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz mentioned Gerry’s name numerous times during his press conference.
