Arrest Warrant Issued For Eagles Defensive End Michael Bennett

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett has reportedly been indicted by a Texas grand jury on a felony charge of injury of the elderly. As such, a warrant has been issued for his arrest and if convicted, Bennett faces up to 10 years in prison.

The charge stems from the 2017 Super Bowl (New England vs. Atlanta), where Bennett allegedly tried to make his way on the field following the New England Patriots’ victory. When security personnel prevented access, however, Bennett forced his way through, injuring a disabled elderly woman who was part of the security team.

Bennett was recently acquired via a trade with the Seahawks. His status for the forthcoming season could obviously be impacted.
