WR Alshon Jeffery is not probable of playing this years first pre-season game. On Sunday he apparently hurt his shoulder. Fortunately, it’s been described as a “minor” injury. According to Brandon Gowton from BGN, sources say Jeffery wants to play, but Eagles don’t want to risk anything this close to the season.
Head coach Doug Pederson stated, “In Alshon’s case, we just wanted to give him a day. I’ve seen a lot from Alshon. Obviously, he has done a great job and this is a good way for us to get some of our younger players, a chance to get some reps with our younger guys.”
Not to mention, last year Jeffery was out for four games from injury(s).
According to Jack McCaffery from montgomerynews.com, WR Torrey Smith missed practice on Tuesday due to back spasms. And LeGarrette Blount missed practice for “personal reasons”. Peterson described the three players as “okay.”
Hopefully the players can get back on the field before the season starts.
